A Few Reasons to Stop Smoking

Thinking of trying to stop smoking? Good for you! More and more people are quitting. After all, it’s getting more difficult to find a place to smoke when you are away from home.

It’s also expensive. With food, gas, and utilities costing more, it would be great to use your cigarette money to pay the bills.

There are more reasons to quit smoking, such as for your kids. If you have children at home they will be more likely to start using cigarettes if they see you smoking.

When I was growing up I had a friend whose mother smoked constantly. She was a chain smoker. She was younger than my mom, but she looked ancient.

My friend always said that she would never start smoking. But you know what? She smokes now as an adult. If her mother had not smoked, my friend would probably never have started.

If you have young children, stop smoking for their sakes.

If you have teens, stop smoking for their benefit. It will be good for them to hear you say that smoking is a bad habit and that you are quitting it for good. Tell them you wish you had never started, if it’s the truth.

If you are pregnant or thinking of having children, stop smoking for the sake of your unborn baby. Babies born to smokers have more health problems and tend to be smaller than those born to non-smokers.

These are just a few of the reasons to stop smoking. There are many more, but most smokers don’t care about the smell, that smoking is bad for their teeth, their lungs, their heart, and just about every part of their body. I’m hoping that you care about your kids enough to quit, or perhaps for your grandkids.
